We make science come alive. Field study helps students connect the real world and classroom learning. They see, explore and experience on their own and discover that learning can take place anywhere. Because we believe in educating the whole child, we also integrate key aspects of core classes into our science program. Students fortify reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as they write in their science journals, collect and graph data, read non-fiction books for information, and share their findings.
"If we’re studying waterways, we take our students out on canoes to experience it first-hand. This experiential, inquiry-based approach makes science meaningful and engages students in the process," Linda Roberts, Armitage science teacher.
