"Love of languages is nothing but one of the forms of love for mankind: to address someone in his own language is like visiting him in his own home as opposed to chatting with him in the street."

- Lanza del Vasto, philosopher/poet

Starting foreign language studies at a young age takes advantage of children's openness and their ability to absorb new languages with ease. Our students, as tomorrow's leaders, must be able to adapt to other peoples and cultures.

French: A Passport to World Citizenship

Learning a foreign language opens doors to understanding other cultures more intimately, achieving success in the global marketplace, and grasping English and our own culture more completely.

Fluency, Culture and History

Our French program prepares Armitage students for achievement in a world where speaking foreign languages and understanding other cultures is fundamental. Students speak in dialogues, perform skits and role play.

French culture and history.

Since French studies at Armitage begin early, near-native pronunciation is an achievable goal. Our instructors are native speakers who bring not only native pronunciation but also unique cultural viewpoints.

Using French in the Real World

Teachers immerse our students in French culture and language so they may make a smooth transition to using French in real world experiences. Students in the upper grades take a group trip to Quebec and Montreal, Canada, where they use conversational skills and experience the French Canadian culture and language.
